Name of the apparatus which looks like a spring and glows or beeps when touched?

Hi friends...can you tell me what is the name of the apparatus , which we find in carnivals , it is a spring like things and we have to move a rod over it without touching the ring on it. If we touch then the light will glow or a buzzer will ring? This is for my science project, please help.
