Feedback for Carnival Cruise?

Has anyone out there ever been on a Carnival (Conquest) Cruise? This will be my 1st time (in 56 years) and I keep hearing different stories about it. It seems like all I am hearing is negative things. Does anyone have anything good to say about Carnival Cruise Lines? It is starting to scare me.
