I am doing a project on The Holiday "Carnival" in Portugal Answers ASAP please !?
Weird. I wouldn't imagine they were Brazilians. In fact, I don't think they are and I know that argus isn't. Carnival or Carnaval is an old tradition in Portugal as it is in most of the western world. It has its own particularities and they are, of course, interesting. True, we may have brought Carnival to Brazil but it grew and found a new personality (several, in fact, depending on where we're speaking of and Brazil is huge and diverse), mostly due to the African descendants, not to mention the weather and so forth, and faded in Portugal. We do have some parades still. They are known in Portugal. Unfortunately they imported things from Brazil, hence becoming de-personalized. If you want really important and unique Carnivals, go to Rio and Salvador mostly (in Brazil), venice (in Italy), New Orleans (in the States) and is it Frankfurt or another town in Germany (google it to make sure)? Sorry if I momentarily forgot some place important.
